There are an infinite number of banks, offering an infinite number of investments, all of them with augmentative adjectives. But unfortunately, the vast majority of investments will not deliver the return expected by the investor. In fact, there are studies that indicate that 60 to 90% of investments deliver negative returns . I'll leave here a link to the article I found in The Economist magazine.
What to do to avoid losing money on investments?
All you have to do is LOOK for another slice of winning investments . You do this by engaging in research. This is not simply calling your manager and asking what the best investment is. I'm talking about carrying out a real hunt for investments, those that few investors are aware of, those that you arrive at before others precisely because you have dedicated yourself to research. Sometimes these investments can stay right under our noses. Who has never missed the chance to buy a property or invest in a company , before the entire market wanted it? Other times, investing means "lifting a few stones" in a true treasure hunt . This requires knowledge and experience.
Investing is the art of saying no to 99% of the investments offered.
This is a problem, because when there is an obligation to invest , as in the case of pension funds , the task requires a lot of effort from the team of analysts and managers. Therefore, funds that yield well cannot remain open to investors for a long time, leaving the common investor at the mercy of banks and their investments in the superlative.
What we propose in our Independent Investment Advisory is to carry out investment hunting , evaluation, qualification and verification of the economic pendulum . In this way, the client will find investments that may not have been available or were not offered by banks .
Finally, my recommendation is that if you are not willing to carry out the research and qualification of investments on your own, you should look for someone to help you with this. And preferably someone with no ties to banks.
