Preço do Minério de Ferro Dispara e China Toma Medidas

It's not news to those who follow me that I forecast prices for some commodities , and one of them is iron ore.

Recently, we had some statements from the Chinese government that were not included in my mathematical models : a possible price intervention by China

Why so much attention to the Chinese market?

China buys seven out of every ten metric tons of iron ore shipped globally , and its real estate sector accounts for approximately a third of that total. Therefore, it is a very important customer for our Brazilian commodities, especially our Fe 62% iron ore .

As reported by WSJ journalist Rhiannon Hoyle , China's National Development and Reform Commission , a state planning body, met with iron ore traders and futures companies , instructing them to avoid price hikes, stockpiling, speculation or futures market manipulation. The companies invited to this meeting were not named.

Given this, the prospect of price intervention will make the forecasting system even more challenging, reflecting the Chinese government's stance towards global speculators. We hope that everything will be resolved as a simple tug of the ear on the part of the Chinese government without any future complications.

Follow me in a series of articles that I have been publishing, as far as I can disclose, about my iron ore price forecasting venture.
